Emily's Tough Mudder Challenge

So I completed my first 5k this weekend!  I literally have never run that far in my life, but I did it!  It took me 33:40 to finish, but I still did it.  Gives me hope for the 10 miles of the tough mudder!  Unfortunately, it totally took it out of me and today I was nearly useless, but technically it doesn't matter because all I have to do is get through the race; I can recover later!  This week I'm focusing on weight lifting, because I have to build some serious upper body strength to make it through the obstacles.

Have to give some serious shout-outs to everyone that has donated.  We've raised over $1000!  I'm blown away and so humbled.  There have even been people that donated twice.  I'm so lucky to have friends like you and Miss Georgia and the PKS project lucky too because they're going to each be getting checks of $500!  Woo hoo!  Take pride in knowing that we're doing something good in the world.  :) :) :)

Hey friends.  So training is actually going really well, especially in light of being in the midst of a crazy amount of law school work.  I'm getting 3 or 4 workouts in a week and my running has definitely improved!  I emceed Miss UGA this weekend and was able to squeeze into my Miss America gown for the first time since last January!  What an amazing feeling!!  I'm about 35 days out so my plan is to just keep plugging away trying to increase my endurance and build some upper body strength.

On an incredibly inspiring note, we've raised over $530 dollars!  I'm so humbled by this support and have no doubt we're going to reach my goal of $800.

Thank you to everyone!
